It is almost time

Ok guys, we are like 26 hours away from the flight. I was doing ok until I started working on my carry on bag and now I have the shakes. I think it finally hit that this is happening, AND IT IS TOMORROW! I am excited, anxious, nervous, scared, sad and happy all at once. It is kind of overwhelming.

Here are a few things you can pray for please:

• calmness during the flights
• for me to not get sick, since I get motion sick VERY easy flights are rough for me.
• pray that when I get to chicago I will find the other team coming from VA
• pray that I will be sitting near the other team and that we can cultivate a friendship
• pray for flight safety, flights to be on time, and for the 12 people team
• pray that ALL our bags will make it to Nairobi, at the same time we do
• pray for rest on Friday night so we will be ready to drive to Eldoret saturday
• pray for driving safety as we drive from Nairobi to Eldoret
• and pray for this mission as this new group starts!

When I published this post I had a little comment from Stephen King show up in the sideline and here is what it said. I thought it was very appropriate: “The scariest moment is always right before you start.”

I’m hoping to have some specific prayer requests that you can all pray for VERY soon. But here are a few:

• Pray for me as I get ready to go. I’m 17 days out and have a good bit to do. The very idea and task of packing is insane for me.
• Pray for $ to come in to be designated for a 3rd checked bag. I think I will have to use one because of the overwhelming response I’ve had of people donating items off M&K’s list – which is amazing!
• Pray for the worker’s they have in the home right now! Based off M’s last post I think they have like 6 or so volunteers there from the states… which is AWESOME.
• Pray for the continued construction of the children’s home.
• Pray for someones heart to be pricked to move to the home and be used as a full time minister/pastor. There is a huge hunger for the gospel and not a full time person to preach it (by vocation).
• Please also pray for translators to come! Or for someone to feel the call to go for that reason. I think M is using kids with decent English to translate his bible studies at the moment.

As soon as I have more, or something specific from M himself I will pass it along. Thank you everyone who is praying daily. You have no idea how much you are helping by doing that!
